Strength Of Schedule

Positional schedule difficulty for all 32 clubs. Every cell shows the opponent and where that defense ranks against the position, so the colour accelerates a scan without ever being the only thing carrying the value.

Strength of schedule grid

Strength of schedule opens with the season

It is the 2026preseason. This grid ranks each week’s opponent by the fantasy points its defence allows — which needs games to have been played. Bye weeks are set; the full positional schedule grid populates once the season starts.

Where These Numbers Come From

Nothing in the grid is hand-assigned. Each cell is a schedule lookup and a defensive ranking, which means it can be checked.

How it reached that answer

  1. For each club and each week, the opponent is read from the schedule shipped with this build rather than assumed.
  2. That opponent's defense is then ranked 1 to 32 in fantasy points allowed to the selected position, where 1 means it has allowed the most — the matchup a fantasy manager wants.
  3. The colour ramp buckets those ranks into five bands, with narrower bands at the extremes because the top and bottom six defenses are where a matchup actually changes a decision.
  4. The season column averages every week with an opponent, then ranks that average against the other 31 clubs so the number has a scale.
  5. Byes are shown as byes. One club in the sample schedule has a week with no opponent that is not its bye; it is labelled as no game rather than silently counted or mislabelled.

What it does not do

  • Project forward past the local schedule. The window is the weeks this build actually holds, not a full rest-of-season slate.
  • Adjust for defensive personnel changes, injuries in a secondary, or a coordinator change mid-season.
  • Weight games by how likely a club is to be leading or trailing, which changes pass and run volume more than the opposing defense does.
  • Replace a start/sit decision. Schedule is one input among several, and it is weighted lightly in the weekly tools for exactly that reason.

This initial build ships with demonstration data. Projections, rostered percentages and movement are illustrative and will be replaced when a live data provider and editorial backend are connected.
