Pads are on. These are the position battles that actually move draft boards.

Camps are open and the pads are finally on, which means the spring guessing is over. The position battles that resolve over the next few weeks will settle roles that swing entire draft tiers, and the winners are often gettable a round cheaper than they will be by late August.

The backfields to watch first

Unsettled committees are where the biggest value swings live. A back who emerges as the clear early-down and goal-line option can jump multiple rounds in a single week of camp reports. Track first-team reps and, once preseason starts, who is on the field inside the ten.

  • Backfields with no returning workhorse — the winner becomes a weekly starter.
  • Wide receiver rooms with an open slot role after an offseason departure.
  • Quarterback competitions that change the value of an entire pass-catching corps.
The player who wins a camp job in early August is the one you wanted to draft in late July.

We will update the board as these settle. If you draft before they resolve, buy the cheaper side of a battle you expect to win rather than paying full price after the news breaks.
