A high pick who lands into a vacated role is the profile that hits; a talented player buried on a crowded depth chart is the profile that frustrates.
Draft capital is the tiebreaker
When two rookies look similar on tape, the one his NFL team spent more to acquire will get more rope, more snaps and more targets — for reasons that have nothing to do with talent and everything to do with sunk cost. In dynasty, bet on the rope.
Landing spot decides the timeline
A receiver drafted into an offense that just lost its target leader can be startable in year one. The same player drafted behind two established options is a two-year hold. Same player, very different price today.
