Recovery Watch: Mahomes, Nabers and Bo Nix Entering Camp
Three draft-defining recoveries, and how much risk each one actually carries.

Draft season opens with three of the most valuable players in the game working back from serious injuries. None of the three is a simple green light, and none is a reason to panic. The difference is in the details.
Patrick Mahomes is ahead of schedule
Mahomes tore the ACL and LCL in his left knee last December and is reported to be nearing full clearance roughly seven months later, comfortably inside the usual window. He handled 7-on-7 work in the spring and is expected to be cleared for team drills by the end of camp, with his stated goal to open Week 1 without restrictions. Draft him as a QB1 and carry a cheap backup only as insurance.
Malik Nabers carries the most uncertainty
Nabers is expected to begin camp on the physically-unable-to-perform list after two procedures on the right knee he tore last September. Reporting has him on schedule but without guarantees, and he is unlikely to feature in the preseason. His target share is elite when healthy; the risk is the timeline, not the talent. Draft the discount, not the ceiling.
Bo Nix looks like a closed chapter
Nix fractured his right ankle in January and had a spring cleanup for bone spurs, but he is reported ready for camp and moving without visible limitation. There is no fantasy discount warranted here — he profiles as a startable quarterback with rushing upside at his normal cost.
Watch the first week of padded practices for all three. A questionable tag in August is noise; a missed week of team drills in late August is a draft-day price change.
This initial build ships with demonstration data. Projections, rostered percentages and movement are illustrative and will be replaced when a live data provider and editorial backend are connected.
